Psychological functions in the core mission of the community house

The Community House is an evolution of the Health House, born from the experience of Catalonia; it is inspired by and implements the principles of the CCM - Chronic Care Model, with a preventive, proactive and participatory healthcare approach.
It is foreseen in the PNRR of 2021, as a physical location of the SSN - National Health Service, close to and easily identifiable by the reference population.
This paper presents the international and national evolution of Community Health Centers, outlining their essential dimensions (proximity and continuity of care, proactivity and prevention, multidisciplinary and institutional interoperability). It identifies several key areas of intervention: collective prevention, community screening, mandatory and optional vaccinations, management of chronic non-communicable diseases, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. It also offers some critical observations to safeguard the core mission of Community Health Centers.
A dedicated structured narrative review has already highlighted psychology's contribution in three broad areas: psychology in primary care, psychology in chronic conditions, and community health psychology. To realize the mission of the Community House, psychological functions cut across all areas of intervention..
This study aims to profile these functions in a manner consistent with the Community Health Center's core mission and to identify related assessment and intervention methods and tools.
These functions require psychologists to equip their training with skills and abilities useful for channeling their knowledge and expertise into the promotion of global health.
